"How the Internet Works"
What i learned is that the internet is opened to anyone also the internet ships binary information , information is made of bits which can be described as any pair of opposites. The people that invented internet working protocol is Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn to make communication possible also if your phone or laptop uses Wifi , the Wifi is connected to a internet service provider and the ISP connects us to many different devices around the world. All the different devices on the internet have unique addresses. A system called the Domain Name System associates names with the corresponding addresses.

The 10 Keys to Personal Power

Key 1: Clarity
“Have
vision. Determine what you want to be, do or have in life. Have a sense of
direction and know where you’re going. If you do not have clear specific goals
in life, you are doomed forever to work for others who do.”
What this means is that
you have to know what you want in life, you have to have clarity on where you
are going in life and your goals.
Key
2: Competence
“If you commit
to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work,
the better you get”
What this
means is that when you really want something you do It well and not sloppy. You
have to work hard for it and not just sit around waiting for it to happen. It
not only good to reach your goal but doing it well also. Knowing that you did
everything you could to reach your goal but you did it well will make you feel
proud.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Habit 1: Be Proactive
“Habit 1 is
the key to unlocking all the other habits and that’s why it comes first. It
says, “I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I’m responsible
for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver’s seat of my destiny,
not just a passenger”
Reflection: Being proactive is very important
because being proactive gets the jobs done you don’t need to depend on other people
but yourself. Can-do people are proactive people. You have to be proactive with
your life to get where you want to get. It comes with challenge yourself also
and trying new things so you can know about other stuff that you’re used to.
You have to make your life useful for yourself not sitting around doing nothing
while you have all these big dreams and opportunities.

School Break
Days
What I did
over winter break is really nothing I did some shopping, slept and ate all day.
The places I went to was just pretty much the mall nowhere far or anything. I didn’t
really meet new people since I didn’t go out much but I did meet some old
friends of my parents. I watched many movies manly ones that had come out last
year but I needed to catch up on. I didn’t really watch or play any sports. A
CTR experience that I had was when this lady I saw at a store was carrying a
lot of stuff so I helped her out and got a cart for her. The book that I read
was vampire academy I’m still not done reading it though. I did no homework
because they didn’t leave us any

Class/ Self Evaluation
What I like about this class is that we got to learn how to create a website and also learn about different types of computers and also listing our goals that really helped me a lot. What I don’t like about this class is making the codes because it took a long time to do. What I suggest to improve the class is maybe playing games but like the ones that help you learn how to type or the ones that help you in any computer area. I think I did my best in this class because I remember when I first had this class I didn’t do anything but now I do every assignment and if I don’t I make sure to do it afterschool . I am comited to being a CTR person because when you choose the right all things turn out like you planned and sometimes they don’t but that’s when the commitment comes in.

Six
Ways to make people like you .If you want people to like you………
Rule
1: Become genuinely interested in other people
“Do this and you will be welcome anywhere”
“You can make more friends in two months by becoming
interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other
people interested in you”
“Ask questions to other people, questions that they would
enjoy answering”
Reflection:
It really helps a lot when you become interested in other people. Not like in a
relationship way but in a friend way. Many people try so hard for people to
take interest in them but sometimes it takes us to get interested in them
first. It shows that you actually care about that person and that they are not
a bother to you or annoying because I think sometimes that’s what stops people
from talking to other people or asking them questions about themselves because
they feel like a bother or some type of creep when in reality its enjoyable
when someone actually takes interest in you and not just gossip to make a
conversation.
Rule 2: Smile
1.”Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, “I like
you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you.”
2.”You don’t feel like smiling? The force yourself to smile.”
3.”It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a
business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends.”
“A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear”
Rule 3: Remember names
1.”A man’s name is to him the sweetest and most important
sound in any language”
2.”If you don’t remember names, you are headed for trouble.”
Reflection: When someone remembers your name it feels good
because it’s like wow you actually remember my name. We sometimes get surprised
because we think we are not that important so why would someone remember your
name or my name? But it feels good when someone does, it shows that the person
actually payed attention to you. It might not seem like a big thing to forget
some ones name but it actually is. I think when you remember people’s names you’ll
be more likable because you can start a conversation with them now knowing
there name.
“Remember my name, Remember my face cause there ain’t no
other honey who can take my place”
Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others
to talk about themselves
“If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an
attentive listener”
“Remember that the man you are talking to is a hundred times
more interested in himself and his wants and his problems than he is in you and
your problems”
else just like they are good listener maybe you can be a good listener for someone else also.
Rule 6: Make the other person feel important- and do it
sincerely
“The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human
nature” (John Dewey) “Helping people feels important and appreciated works
magic”
"You are amazing"
Reflection: overall this teaches you that there are many different
ways it you want people to like you these ways are very important because they
make the person overall feel wanted and everyone wants to keep a friend who
makes them feel special. It also taught me to listen better because sometimes
the other person just needs someone there to listen rather than rushing to give
them advice we have to try out bests to understand the person before we speak.
Also remembering names ,I didn’t really think it was a big deal but I know I wouldn’t
really feel good if someone forgot my name so I try my very best to remember names.

When Glenn Cunningham was younger he was in a bad accident
that burned his legs so severely they were useless. The doctors told him he
could never walk again but, he had the heart to reach his goal and walk again.
When he felt like giving up he would tell himself that he was going to walk no
matter how much it hurt or how hard it was. Little by little he began practicing
on his walking then later one of his main goals was the run in the Olympics and
he achieved that goal and came I first place. After the doctors told him he
could never walk again he defied everything and achieved his goal. He could
have gave up and not even try and have self-pity but he knew that wasn’t going
to help him walk again. He put his heart into walking again and he earned it.

“The
Six Attitudes of High Achievers”
High Achievers….
1.Make no small plans
Reflection: high achievers make no small plans because
they know what they want and high achievers don’t go small they go big. You
have to have big goals for yourself in life even if you’re going to struggle
but it makes you feel powerful and proud when you know your aiming for
something high. Usually people go for the little stuff because it’s convenient for
them. Being a high achiever isn’t always doing stuff alone by yourself but its
working together with other people to accomplish your dreams.
“A goal without a plan is just a
wish”
2. Do what they fear
Reflection: Doing what they fear means doing they action they can’t do like lest say when someone is afraid of speaking the truth when they know the person is wrong you have to speak up about it and not stay quite. They fear people with knowledge and control people without it. Many people fear standing up for what they believe in but it just takes one person to say what others are fearful of saying don’t give into other people’s fears. Maybe the way they decided to handle the situations didn’t come out so good so now they fear it but we are not all the same everyone has a different way of getting over there fears.
“They fear what they don’t understand”

3. Are
willing to prepare- High achievers prepare to win. Many people only
focus on “winning” but they don’t focus on how they are going to get there ,
they have to prepare. When you prepare you will know what you are doing. For
example like when you have to prepare for
a test you have to study or take notes or ask someone to test you or you can
take a practice test. There are many ways to prepare it is never to early to
prepare it actually helps to prepare early because then you’ll know what you
need help on and you can work on it
“success depends on previous
preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure”
4.Are
willing to risk failure- High achievers are willing to risk failure
because they know sometimes things won’t always come out as planned but it doesn’t
mean they give up on it, it just gives them more motivation to reach higher.
They are willing to try out something that will probably end in failure but
they do it anyways because they want to experience new things or want to learn
from a mistake. There will be many failures in life but that doesn’t mean we
have to give up it just means you know what to do better now.
“You must be willing to risk failure to experience true
success”
5.Are Teachable-
High achievers are willing to learn new stuff from other people and not just
from themselves or what they think is correct. You have to be teachable in
order to reach true success. For example listening to other people opinion and
maybe getting little ideas out of their opinions. You have to be taught first
in order to know who you want to be. If the person is not willing to be taught
then how are they going to reach true success, everyone comes from being taught
no one comes out of the blue knowing everything that’s why there is people to
guide you and teach you for then later on you can reach the success you want.
Reflection: Out if all “The Six Attitudes of High Achievers”
it really taught me to do what I fear and that is getting out of my comfort
zone. Sometimes people like staying in there comfort zone because they feel
safe there but nothing really grows there. Even if you are really fearful on what’s
going to happen or you have doubts you can still go ahead and do it because you
won’t know unless you try. It also taught me to make no small plans. I have to
make big plans for myself because I know I can do big things it just takes
dedication.
